I had a thought... If Memento Ink is water based and must be used with Blendabilities (Stampin' Up!'s AWESOME new alcohol markers), then why can't we use the Stampin' Up! Classic Ink Pads (also water based)? So, I tried it... and, it worked! The ink doesn't bleed at all! From my hard core research (reading the back of each ink pad), I found that the main difference is Memento Ink is more water resistant. So, if your card gets wet, the Classic Ink will bleed. Oh, and if your card gets wet with Memento Ink, it will be ruined, too, just like when any card gets wet!
So, play away with your Stampin' Up! Classic Inks and Blendabilities. We (my helpers Kris and Landa and I) wanted to be able to stamp some images in brown and use Blendabilities - that's what got us thinking...
**Disclaimer - I have NOT tested them with all 50 of our Classic Ink Colors. I tried: Early Espresso, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Tangerine Tango, Garden Green, and Blackberry Bliss. None of those bled. You can't really see the Pink Pirouette image because it was so light it got covered (but didn't bleed), and the So Saffron turned green because we put Pumpkin Pie on it. We were just testing the bleeding on those, not trying to make them look pretty.
Thanks!
Jennifer
Kris Trimmier colored this one. Stamped with Early Espresso. |
I copied these two samples, and we stamped the flowers in Early Espresso. |
